(133****) Zachrání esperanto Evropu?

Ahoj, jak to jde? Dneska mám pro tebe velmi velmi velmi, aspoň tedy pro mě, zajímavou epizodu. Narazila jsem na článek na huffingtonpost od Vincenta Jacquesa. Vincent Jacques je velký euro-optimista, podporuje evropskou integraci a v roce 2019 založil hnutí Espéranto pour l’Europe. Já osobně se o esperanto zajímám už pár týdnů a brzy ti o něm ještě natočím speciální epizodu. Líbí se mi jeho hlavní myšlenka.

Stejně jako tvůrce esperanta, Ludwig Zamenhof, i Vincent Jacques věří, že díky esperantu si mohou lidé lépe rozumět a mohou snadněji žít v míru, protože si budou jazykově všichni rovni. Možná trochu utopická idea, ale pojďme se spolu podívat na to, co Vincent Jacques píše. Jazyk není jenom prostředkem komunikace, ale je taky základem identity národů. V Evropské Unii máme 24 oficiálních jazyků a teoreticky jsou si všechny úřední jazyky Evropské Unie rovny. Teoreticky. V evropských institucích má dnes totiž privilegované postavení angličtina. Nebo v lepším případě jsou webové stránky a oficiální dokumenty k dispozici 3 nebo 4 dalších jazycích.

A přesto, navzdory desítkám miliard eur, které státy každý rok utratí za jazykové pobyty, každý druhý Evropan nemluví anglicky. A dokonce i ti, kteří angličtinu ovládají, říkají, že jejich úroveň má daleko do plynulého projevu. Jak vidíme, Evropská unie institucionalizuje jazykovou diskriminaci.

Použití angličtiny jako dominantního jazyka Evropské unie tvoří několik problémů. Především nikdo s evropskými národy nekonzultoval, jestli všichni souhlasí. Nikdo nezorganizoval žádné referendum, nikdo neuspořádal žádnou debatu! Pokud dojde k Brexitu, nebude už angličtina historickým jazykem žádné členské země. V tomto případě bude Evropská unie k fungování používat cizí jazyk.

Ano, angličtina se stále hojně používá na celém světě a angličtina je samozřejmě jazykem Spojených států, tedy USA, který je naším hlavním obchodním partnerem. Ale stejně můžeme mluvit o čínštině nebo arabštině. Tyto jazyky bychom mohli všichni přijmout jako společný jazyk, pokud se budeme řídit stejnou logikou co se angličtiny týče.

Je nutno vědět, že angličtina neměla v EU vždy dominantní postavení. Když vzniklo EHS (Evropské hospodářské společenství), t.j. předchůdce EU, byla hlavním dorozumívacím jazykem francouzština. A když tedy Evropská unie už jednou změnila pracovní jazyk, proč by ho nemohla změnit znovu? Toto je nicméně důležité rozhodnutí a pokud chceme, aby naše drahá Evropská unie dodržovala základní principy, musíme změnit přístup. Jaké jsou základní myšlenky vzniku EU? Demokracie, zachování kulturní rozmanitosti, rovnost mezi národy a rovnost mezi jednotlivci. A který jazyk bude primární? Měli bychom se rozhodnout v kontextu veřejné debaty. A proč ne s referendem?

Jaké máme kandidáty na nový oficiální společný jazyk EU? Nemčina je nejrozšířenější jazyk po Brexitu. Čínština je nejrozšířenější jazyk na světě. Angličtina je dominantní jazyk světového obchodu. Francouzština je mezinárodní historický jazyk až do 20. století. Tak který kandidát je ten ideální?

Odpovědět nám může Albert Einstein, který řekl: „Co se mezinárodního jazyka týče, esperanto je tím nejlepším řešením“. Jelikož máme na výběr z 6 000 jazyků, proč si vybrat složitý jazyk, který je obtížné vyslovovat a který se budeme dlouho učit? Když esperanto, jazyk uznávaný UNESCem a několika dalšími mezinárodními organizacemi, se učí desetkrát rychleji než kterýkoli jiný jazyk? Esperantem můžeme mluvit za méně než rok. Na angličtinu, francouzštinu nebo němčinu potřebujeme někdy i více než 10 let. Tolstoj dokonce říkal, že je možné esperanto plynule číst po 2 hodinách studia. Navíc existuje mnoho bezplatných online kurzů, které vám umožní naučit se jazyk do takové úrovně, abyste mohli bez problémů konverzovat. Jeden z nich dokonce nabízí metodu “12 lekcí ve 12 dnech”. Není třeba drahý jazykový pobyt. Esperanto je možné se perfektně naučit doma. Jako samouk.

Gramatika esperanta je zcela pravidelná, logická. Všechna slovesa se časují stejným způsobem, všechna množná čísla jsou pravidelná, písmena jsou vždy vyslovována stejným způsobem. V esperantu neexistují gramatické výjimky a tedy ani složitost. Současně si ale esperanto zachovalo potřebné nuance a přesnost jazyka.

Esperanto je také souborem hluboce humanistických hodnot. Tvůrcem esperanta je Ludwig Lazare Zamenhof, který žil v roce 1887 v Ruskem okupovaném Polsku. Všiml si, že jazyky nejsou jen prostředkem komunikace, ale také faktorem dominance. To znamená, že některé národy dominují jiným národům jen proto, že mluví rozšířenějším a častějším jazykem. Zamenhof proto vytváří esperanto, neutrální jazyk, který patří všem národům. A když mluvíme esperantem, jsme si všichni rovni. Jeho snadné studium umožní každému mluvit bez obtíží. Jak bohatý, tak chudý mají stejné podmínky a tím nevznikne rozdělená společnost. A protože se esperanto učí tak rychle, máme dost času na prohloubení znalostí vlastní kultury nebo na objevování jiných kultur.

Je velmi do očí bijící, jak rozdílné jsou kořeny esperanta a kořeny angličtiny. Esperanto vzniklo na humanistickém základě, zatímco angličtina se stala jazykem obchodu a financí. Esperanto není jenom prostředkem komunikace, esperanto je především základem identity národů. Přejeme si Evropu, kde dominuje obchod a finance, nebo Evropu, která je postavena na základech rovnosti, sdílení a humanismu?
